I know Gaile said it's impossible to increase the length of the text in PS but I don't really understand HOW.
Any ideas?

Actually Gaile later said that they are working on a way around the limitation.

Given the gradual shift that's going on, I have this advice for sellers:
Put a short version of what you're selling in Party Search even if you're going to spam the long version.
Say "WTS Q9 Colossal Scimitar" once so it goes into party search.
Then say "~~~***W T S Inscribable [Req 9 Sword] !!COLOSSAL SCIMITAR!! 15^50 20/20 +5 armor = 100K +5e OBO ***~~~!!!!!!11!ONE!"
I don't read the district 1 spam anymore, but I'm sure many still do. If you put out two messages, you'll increase your audience and chances of making a trade.

I've been using the Trade Menu to do my business in Kamadan for awhile now. I don't understand how someone could hate the Trade Menu with such a passion as to dismiss it and people who use it.
Of course, I'm not saying it doesn't need a few improvements. Personally, I think Trade should be given its own tab in the Party Search, and is seperated into a "WTB" and "WTS" category. That way people don't have to waste space in the text field putting "WTB" or "B", and whatnot. And on that note, I agree that the text limit should be longer.
The hotlink window ala Skill Template ideas was a superb one. World of Warcraft does the same thing, and ruther well. With the Skill Template hotlink already in the game, I don't see how hard it would be to add Item functionality to it.

Pretend your trying to sell it in a cell phone text message.

Hi, am i the only one who noticed this... ITS CALLED PARTY SEARCH AND EVERYONE IS TRYING TO USE IT FOR TRADE!! If you dont see the problem with this, well, if you want to save yourself lots of money paddleballs are great fun and it may last you YEARS of entertainment...
P.S. Dont split hairs and say that "i found a party with it once," the OP is "Party search is working" and all posts are trade related, and it BARELY works for trades(txttlksuxurlame4writingit).

I have to say I find it a lot easier to sell stuff as well. I just scan the WTB's and if I have an item I'll whisper someone, its saved me a considerable amount of time and energy so far.

it works perfectly fine for grouping. all the posts are about trading because that is where the concern has been. And if they just fix up the character limit like they said they're looking into, it will be perfect for trade as well.

^ I never said it didnt work for grouping... let me spell it out. NO ONE REALLY WANTED PARTY SEARCH FOR LOOKING FOR A PARTY... SINCE IT WAS IMPLEMENTED PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO USE IT FOR TRADING... INSTEAD OF SEEING AND ADDRESSING THE OBVIOUS OUTCRY FOR WHAT WAS NEEDED. THE RESPONSE GIVEN WAS THIS POST BY THE PR :

How could you even suggest that we don't play, don't care, don't read, don't give you anything, whatever the current beef of the day is?
Consider: - Party Search
- Expanded storage
- Observer Mode
- Reconnects
- The Festival Hat NPC
- Domain of Anguish
- The title system
- Hard Mode
- Festivals -- modified and new
- A bloomin' $100,000 Tournament
The list is darn near endless!
I understand you want more characters in the PS window. Sorry, that is simply not possible with the programming in Guild Wars. It's something we can look at with the new programming and the new engine for Guild Wars 2, but from all that I know, we cannot modify it for the current game.
However, I'd like you to look at the Big Picture, and realize how small that issue is, and how comments like "We never get what we want" are utterly inaccurate, inappropriate, and unfair.
I advocate for fans every day. But I really hope that the other dev team members don't see this thread because, today, I'm totally embarrassed by a few of you and your petulant comments.

Another junk update was implemented, then defended when its obvious no one wanted in the face of so many things that are wrong. Its junk not because its entirely unbeneficial, its junk cause we really need some more important things than PS, i.e. a better way to trade, and were getting a "stfu." lol in general some people just need to be told sternly to stfu, you know trollers and such, but this was not one of those instances, Gaile imho was in the wrong here and failed at "relating to the public"... and most of that list is a joke.
Now the only reason people will say it "works" cause its another HALF-ASSED implementation that makes the absolutely detestible trading circumstances of the game a little better. IT STILL SUCKS! In reality people didnt really want it, certainly didnt need it and dont really use it for what its named for... but anet wasted our time and money with it anyways, gg /fail, it doest work. Whats NEEDED is a working vialble trade system I dont care so long as it works and I can be an intelligent human being with it (txtspksuxlrn2splgud). The party search will "work" when people arent using it mostly for trade and its primarily used to find a party...

Buried in your anti-Anet rant was a little admission that Party Search has actually made trade a little better. Thank you for that bit of intellectual honesty.
Your argument basically boils down to, "Party search has improved trading, but we deserve a better trading system." I actually agree with that - minus the bitterness and self-pity.

everything you have listed in your post are items that are very very easy to sell even if you were to spam them in trade chat. Thus, its not a very good indicator that ps is "working".
with our current trading system, most sellers/buyers of obscure/rare items is dependent on timing. its very hit and miss. you may spam all day with no success or you may spam for 5 minutes with lots of success.
i dont do much trading nowadays but i dont consider your example to hold much water.

You completely misunderstood just about everything in my post. Your assumption on "my" argument is all wrong buddy, read it again.Oh yeah in my "rant" if you mean by making it better, not insanely ridiculous to trade shit, youre right I guess, I suppose if you're comparing liquid shit to solid shit, solid is ftw cause its easier to clean up lol... trading on PS is still stupid...
I dont see what you mean by self-pity, guess you just wanna be cool huh? Throw in that little zing there to make you feel like you got one in for your good ol buddy ANET? good for you. lol whatever my logic is still there... you hold split hairs... But yes im bitter... you should be too if you understood... your post shows you OBVIOUSLY don't. But whatever...
I'm not saying it any simpler than I already have, reading comprehension is ftw...
